Welcome to Gitche Gumee Handcrafted Jewelry by Gina Harman. Lake Superior is legendary for her beauty, strength and power. For centuries the Ojibwe people have regarded this body of water as "Gitche Gumee", meaning "Big Sea" or "Huge Water". Lake Superior is the Largest of the Great Lakes and is also the World's largest freshwater lake by surface area. It is here, throughout the northern shores of the Upper Peninsula that I find spectacular Lake Superior Agates and through a series of intricate steps, turn them into jewelry.

Each of my Lake Superior Agate Pendants & Jewelry pieces are handcrafted and wrapped in copper. The copper wire wrap and pendant is then patinaed. Afterwards I polish the highlighted area for a nice rich texture and is finished with a necklace. Great pendant to wear year-round - especially while rockhounding! ALL of my pendants come with a 18" - 21" antique copper plated necklace.

We invite you to purchase one of these extraordinary pieces of art that have been created by God and handcrafted with love. We know that you will enjoy wearing a one-of-a-kind gem from Gitche Gumee. Each agate and stone is carefully collected, cut, ground, polished for 10 to 15 days, wire wrapped and patinaed. To complete each piece, the wire wrapping receives a gentle polish to bring out the copper wire details and create more depth.
Each necklace is custom made by utilizing bulk antique copper chain, lobster clasps and jump rings. The necklace that comes with your pendant will be approximately 18" - 21" in length. Gitche Gumee Handcrafted Jewelry Company is a Native American owned and woman owned company located in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. All jewelry is handcrafted by me, the owner Gina Harman. These unique Lake Superior agates and stones have been carefully collected for decades.
